Bilbao Metropoli-30 has coordinated a study on transversal skills for professional excellence in Biscay, presented en 2014 and conducted by the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU), in collaboration with the ten professional colleges that are members of the BasquePRO Elkargoak professional network:

- Colegio de Ingenieros Técnicos Industriales de Bizkaia
- Colegio Oficial de Ingenieros Industriales de Bizkaia
- Colegio de Ingenieros Técnicos de Minas del País Vasco, Navarra, La Rioja y Soria
- Colegio Oficial de Médicos de Bizkaia
- Colegio Oficial de Psicología de Bizkaia
- Colegio Oficial de Trabajo Social de Bizkaia
- Colegio Oficial de Ingenieros Técnicos en Topografía
Its main conclusions are that the profile of professional excellence should be described in the following way:
“Exemplary individuals who convey trust, showing respect for confidentiality, other people, their work, and their time; being responsible, dependable and accountable for the decisions they make; knowing how to communicate effectively and efficiently; organising, prioritising and planning their own and their team’s work, while at the same time applying and sharing their experiences”.
