European project “Euronet 50/50”
Bilbao hosts on 9 June 2016 an informative session on the European project “Euronet 50/50” on energy saving in schools, with the technical collaboration of Bilbao Metropoli-30.
This project has the backing of over 500 schools throughout Europe, and its remit is to drive energy saving in public buildings through the application of the 50/50 method: 50% of the money saved through the implementation of measures by pupils and teachers is returned to the schools, with the remaining 50% constituting a net saving for the local authority responsible, which in this case is Bilbao City Council.
A meeting is held on 22 June 2017 of the heads and principals of the schools that have undertaken the project during this first school year, 2016-2017, with the aim being to assess the pilot experience in each case, its implementation, the instruction provided, the measures introduced, and pupils’ engagement.
