Tuxpan (Veracruz, Mexico)

At the request of the Basque government’s delegation in Mexico, the Association receives Mr Juan Pablo Alcantar, the incoming Secretary for Economic Development 2018-2021 for the Municipality of Tuxpan (Veracruz, Mexico), who visits Bilbao with an interest in gaining a first-hand understanding of Metropolitan Bilbao’s transformation process, the role the Association has played, its work over the long term, and its BM2035 project.

Bilbao Metropoli-30 has been involved with Tuxpan for many years. In 2012, BM30 undertook a project for the local authority involving a Strategic Reflection and Scenarios for the city, and this contact seeks to accelerate the change taking place in planning projects for its long-term, integral development, while drawing up a project for developing both the city itself and its region. In addition, it has taken part in the symposium “Tuxpan, City with Value”, which was held in May 2012.
