Urban Revolution Aurrera! Repository
Bilbao Metropoli 30 launches Urban Revolution Aurrera! Repository, a knowledge sharing platform.
The Urban Revolution Aurrera! initiative seeks to build a community of practitioners, activists, thinkers, public authorities, businesses, professionals, as well as allied networks and forums from around the world, to unite in a shared quest to change city making with a disruptive and pioneering approach.
To inspire our cities to move decisively towards the common goal of being sustainable, prosperous, and human, one of the objectives of this community is to share knowledge, experiences and urban projects that can be useful and that contribute to undertake and accelerate urban innovations to address the current ecological, economic and social challenges of our cities.
This repository, which is available on the website www.thebayawards.com and also shares its contents through the Urban Revolution Aurrera! Community Newsletter on a monthly basis, incorporates pioneering initiatives from around the world, exclusive articles and interviews with The Bay Awards jury members and experts driving urban change around the world, as well as in-depth publications on key urban issues.
The Urban Revolution Aurrera! community and The Bay Awards are an example of projects and initiatives from all over the world that prove that the changes our cities need are possible and, in fact, are happening in big cities and small communities, with ambitious projects or through more modest initiatives.
Behind all these initiatives, there are people committed to making our cities better places. They are members of the jury of The Bay Awards, responsible for projects that have been submitted to this call, experts in different perspectives of urban development and in this section we have the opportunity to learn from them.
This proposed Urban Revolution Aurrera! community also builds upon the foundations articulated by many organisations, networks, and experts from across the world, which has been reflected in a large number of inspiring publications. They all share a substantial global consensus on the challenges we must address, on the role of cities in facing those global imperatives, and an increasing realisation that the changes we must make are not proceeding with the intensity or speed needed.
In this repository we also include publications proposed by the community itself as strategic content on the urban innovation that we intend to achieve.
