Consejo de las Mujeres de Bilbao por la Igualdad

The Bilbao Women’s Council for Equal Opportunities is a public service organisation whose mission is to guarantee women’s democratic involvement in the development and promotion of the principle of equal opportunities between men and women in the different local spheres of political, cultural, economic and social life.

The Bilbao Metropoli-30 Association is actively involved in this project in its capacity as the organisation’s Technical Secretary together with the Bilbao City Council’s Department of Equality, Cooperation and Community Affairs. This Council has the remit to be a linchpin for women’s participation in the city of Bilbao. The aim is therefore to orchestrate community engagement to ensure that Bilbao is seen as a benchmark by any city promoting equal opportunities between men and women.
